Lack of Women in STEM

As a 11th grader, Alexis pursued a semester long research project where she looked into gender disparities in STEM classes and then proposed a solution to fix it at Burnsville High School. The project encompassed extensive research into literature surrounding the role of women in STEM. Additionally, Alexis connected with various District 191 staff members to propose her solution.

Are Teens on Snap Crack?

As a 10th grader, Alexis presented this project at the Twin Cities Regional Science Fair. She advanced to the Minnesota State Science Fair and was selected for a Behavioral American Psychological Association Award for her research. Her project aimed to learn more about Snapchat, a popular social media app, addiction among teens at Burnsville Highschool. Her study recruited over 840 highschoolers.
